Even the so-called 'luxury' catteries we’ve tried out in the countryside get absolutely freezing during a Scottish winter. We used to drive 40 minutes out to a cattery in Ayrshire every time we went abroad. Our British Shorthair hated the car, and to be honest, the metal pens were depressing. Switching to a vetted sitter in Giffnock was a revelation. She stayed in her own familiar environment, and the sitter even brought our bins in and sorted the post. A truly premium service that we will definitely use again.

I admit it, my Persian cat is ridiculously spoiled and on a very specific raw food diet. Traditional catteries always mess it up. I left extremely detailed instructions for the sitter near High Street Ken, and she followed them flawlessly. She even noticed when Coco was slightly fussy one evening and stayed an extra 30 minutes to hand-feed her. Incredible dedication.
